About Mark Stegeman

Mark Stegeman is running to represent Arizona Legislative District 20 with a simple promise: a record of public service and real work, not a political career.

For nearly 11 years, Mark served on the Tucson Unified School District Governing Board (2008–2019), where he focused on transparency, accountability, and better governance. He maintained 98% attendance across 340+ board meetings, missing only one meeting with a public vote, and he kept families informed through long, semi-regular constituent letters.
On the board, he pushed for practical reforms, including video streaming and recording of meetings, hiring an internal auditor, and ending practices that operated in secrecy. Mark was re-elected twice in highly competitive races, earning the trust of voters even in difficult moments.

Now he is bringing that same steady, independent approach to the State Capitol.
